Robert K. Rodibaugh U.S. Bankruptcy Courthouse
South Bend, Indiana
While successfully achieving Federal courthouse standards on a private-sector development budget, Panzica produced a national award-winning project design. With a superior project delivered on time and under-budget, the courthouse became a GSA-touted textbook example of an exemplary successful private-public partnership. Amenities include two mahogany-paneled courtrooms with associated judges chambers, secure enclosed parking bays, general office/teleconference facilities and a network center serving the entire Northern Indiana court district. Anti-ballistic materials and monitoring systems were seamlessly integrated throughout to enhance occupant security. A significant challenge overcome was the GSA’s mid-project integration of enhanced security requirements, requiring our custom engineering of concrete perimeter security barricades.
